Bothered By Fullness Beneath Your Chin?
According to a survey of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, 67% of people coming to a cosmetic clinic or medical spa said they are bothered by their double chin.
A double chin occurs when submental fullness increases due to fat accumulation beneath the chin and around your neck. There are different reasons for that – aging, hereditary predisposition, excess weight, or any combination of these factors. Sometimes, even with diet or exercise, the unwanted fullness beneath your chin may not go away, and it could make you appear older or heavier than you actually are.
Unfortunately, submental fat in adults is very resistant to the majority of treatment methods.
Fortunately, KYBELLA®️ can help!
What Is Kybella?
Kybella is the first and only FDA-Approved injectable treatment to improve the appearance of moderate to severe fat beneath the chin by physically destroying fat cells. It’s a synthetic version of the naturally occurring molecule deoxycholic acid, which is produced by the human body in our own intestines for the breakdown and absorption of dietary fats.
When Kybella is injected into the subcutaneous (beneath the skin) fat of the submental (under the neck) region, the membranes of the targeted fat cells are destroyed. Once destroyed, the cells are no longer able to store fat. The destruction of these cells is then followed by the body’s natural elimination and healing process. This process is slow but steady, and the fat cells are typically removed from the area within 4 to six weeks after receiving injections.
Clinical studies have made it possible to confirm the efficacy and safety of the KYBELLA®️ product, which replaces alternative methods, such as chin liposuction.
Possible Side Effects
The most common side effects are swelling, pain, bruises, numbness, redness, and hardening of the injection area, as well as difficulties with swallowing (dysphagia). Each symptom lasts for a couple of days (in very rare cases, it could take one week or months).
Using KYBELLA®️ is contraindicated for people suffering from cancer, skin infections, during exacerbation of chronic diseases, as well as during pregnancy and lactation.
Important To Know
A double chin is not a serious medical condition, but it’s a visible cosmetic concern that many people wish would simply disappear. Many people are bothered by the appearance of double chins in photos – especially those taken from a profile perspective.
Results vary according to each individual.
On average, a patient gets 12-20 injections at each session, with 2-3 sessions recommended, at one-month intervals.
KYBELLA®️ should only be administered by a trained healthcare professional.
