How Micro-Blading Works
Micro-blading is a cosmetic technique that fills in thin eyebrows to make them seem fuller. Micro-blading involves making tiny cuts in the eyebrow areas and filling these cuts with pigment. Essentially, micro-blading is a form of tattooing.
Micro-bladed brows look naturally fuller and more defined and last anywhere between 18 months to three years. During this time, you don’t have to do much to your eyebrows to make them stand out. You can quickly touch up your brows with an eyebrow pencil, or not, and you’ll be good to go.
To perform the micro-blading procedure, our technician applies a topical numbing ointment to ensure a pain-free experience. The esthetician then creates an outline or frame around your eyebrows, mapping the areas that require pigment. We’ll show you the design and the color of the pigment before starting the procedure.
Over the next two hours or so, the technician makes careful strokes that mimic eyebrow hairs until your brows start to look darker and fuller.
Micro-Blading Vs. Ombré Shading
Ombré shading is similar to micro-blading in that it creates fuller brows. However, there are some slight differences. Micro-blading utilizes pigment delivered in the form of tiny tattoo strokes. In contrast, ombré shading relies on a series of fine dots that vary in concentration, hence the ombré look. Once completed and fully healed, ombre brows resemble powdered brows.
Ombré shading works great for all skin types. Micro-blading, on the other hand, may not be ideal for oily skin.
